Outpatient Paediatric Psychiatry

Outpatient Paediatric Psychiatry is very similar to Outpatient Pediatrics and Adolescence in the Department of Psychiatry. The name Paediatric is applied as the upper age limit for patients is 15. The difference with the Department of Psychiatry for adults is that the focus in on child development.

Hours of Consultation

Treatment and consultation are provided on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday between 13:00 and 16:00.
Initial consultation takes approximately 60 minutes. Follow-up consultations take approximately 10 to 30 minutes.
* We have increased the new patient acceptance capacity in November 2010.

Doctors who are members of academic societies, including those who are certified by the Japanese Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, are in charge.

Anxiety disorders, neurosis, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, pervasive development disorder, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, etc.

Overview

System of Treatment
All consultations are by appointment only. To book a consultation, please call the Medical & Welfare Consultation Unit or the Outpatient Reception and ask for a consultation in Outpatient Paediatric Psychiatry. You will be asked for your name and contact telephone number when you make an appointment.
Treatment Policy
As a general rule, only outpatient treatment is provided and in a lot of the cases, a private interview, behavioral therapy and drug therapy are performed.
From May 2011, our Child Psychiatry Unit has been operating with 25 beds. Quality treatment and care that are more viable are being provided.

Examinations and Guidance

Psychological tests, brain CT scan, electroencephalographic examination and blood tests are performed where necessary.

Fees

As a general rule, treatments provided will be covered by health insurance.
